SpongeBob creator Stephen Hillenburg dies at 57

Man this is a bad month for geek/pop culture, first Stan Lee and now Stephen Hillenburg. I watched my first SpongeBob episode at age 19 drunk out of my mind. And I am not ashamed to say as a grown ass man I enjoyed SpongeBob. It was a show both parents and their kids could enjoy together, it was easily one of the greatest cartoons of it’s era with the same everlasting legacy like the Looney Tunes. So I am extremely sad that a man who created such an iconic pop culture character has passed away. And at quite a young age of 57. Rest in Peace Stephen…
