What-the-fuck Syfy?!

ET-Blog-Net-Ruined-My-Life

“The Internet Ruined My Life” will expose the unexpected perils of living in a social-media obsessed world. Each episode will tell real-life stories of people who had posts, tweets or status updates backfire — from an innocent tweet that caused two traveling friends to be detained and suspected of potential terrorism, to a hashtag that unleashed death threats and a sniper outside a young woman’s window, to a profile picture that got transformed into a hateful meme shared by hundreds of thousands, the series tells each story through gripping first-person accounts.”

So to sum up the series as follows: It is about Suey Park who has actually made a career out of being a professional victim. She then proceeded to take someone’s tweets out of context in an effort to ruin their life. And when karma came back to bite her in the ass for doing what she has made a professional career out of, she rips out that the victim card and cries wolf. I remember her reign of terror as she used her mob of thousands to harass and bully anyone any everyone who didn’t agree with her. She caused people to close their Twitter accounts, she caused them pain and suffering, public humiliation, job loss, etc. All while working herself up into as great a victim as her followers will allow, not that a single example was given showing actual physical threats or violence against her.

slacktivismPeople like Suey Park and her SJW ilk are looking for controversies in everything, and attacks that as if it’s a genuine issue, because the real issue is actually much harder to find in real life. Too many internet social justice warriors and  not enough real battles to fight. We need to stop pandering to these spoiled, privileged slactivists, but instead channels like Syfy are now giving her the spotlight. Not that it really matters, most people stopped watching Syfy when they changed their name and started churning out low budget garbage. So I am guessing this series will following the same route as the Law & Order’s “GamerGate” episode? It will be brimming with sensationalism, inaccuracies and misinterpretation of the facts. “Thanks Syfy for giving these people the spotlight…

Hey, it’s up to a 30:1-ish downvote ratio (it was only 20:1 two days ago). I can’t wait for whoever pitched this to lose their job.
