‘Silent Hills’ petition surpasses 50,000 signatures

Wow a petition online that will definitely change their mind. People seem to think just because you get a bunch of people to sign something saying “We want this now please.” That it is going to happen. Please stop, and be realistic for a moment. Unfortunately this petition will go nowhere because not only does Konami own the Silent Hills IP. It was developed under Konami, therefore they could claim (and rightfully so) that anything remotely resembling the game was developed at Konami and therefore it belongs to them.

672a284dba6495071af1f6dd2968b34372fbd019810af1000a8a52ca6886ed2a50K people who didn’t stop to think for two seconds and realize that their petition is largely useless. I don’t think I have ever seen a petition like this work regardless of the number of signatures. I understand the sentiment, but these always end up being a waste of time and people need to realize this. Having said that the person who created the petition and anyone who signed it has a lot to learn about how the real world works. Let it die. If all the developers and the people behind it are gone, don’t force it to be made.

If your having to petition to get a game released, then the game has already failed. I admire the servitude and pure ambition to get this game released, it’s a very frustrating place to be. But ultimately if Konami can’t provide strong enough investment that translates into profit then I’m afraid Silent Hills is dead and buried.

Agreed, if it was already done and dusted and needed to be released then it would have been a different story.
