OnLive is dead. I am so shocked. Look at me being shocked. That slight twitch of my eyebrow? That was shock. But did I not say three years ago that OnLive was an unsustainable console? The only reason cloud gaming services survive is that they are offered as part of a platform that also does other stuff. Pure cloud gaming won’t be a thing as long as the internet infrastructure/policy/pricing remains as it is now. But unless you live in a mayor metropolitan area and can afford it, this kind of gaming just isn’t an option for most people. And it probably won’t be a widespread possibility for another 20 years.
